distributor cap melted
sorry if this is in the wrong forum, mods please move as you see fit....
i have a mallory unilite distributor, mallory promaster coil, msd 6a box hooked up with blue moroso wires to NGK R5672a-9 spark plugs.
heres the problem, the carbon tip inside the cap melted causing misfiring and the such.
i have 4 cylinders not working (plugs fouled)
what could have caused the carbon tip to melt like that. could that have caused the plugs to foul, or the other way around?????
this is the second time this has happened (it happen a while back with my other engine) im using the balaster mallory recommends
im also using the plugs that AFR recommends starting out with.
i have about 10.8:1 compression on stroked out 350
any ideas.........

Re: distributor cap melted
Maybe, maybe not. Should be easy enough to tell by looking at it.
