Repairing wiring hack job- '89 CODE 'F'
So here's the deal: previos owner made "modifications" to wiring harness components near battery compartment. Can anybody explain or better yet post a pic of it should be?
1. 2 wires coming out of small loom along fender rail. first is black about 18-20gauge and is cut. The other looks like it went into a plug for a relay, is black/red & about 12gauge.
2. a 2contact round female plug ending around AC compressor.
3. a flat plug with orange, tan, greenwhite, black/red, and solid black wires in and out. the green and tan are coming out of the loom along the frame rail. the orange is cut on the firewall side and maybe a relay plug on the other. The tan and green have maybe relay plugs on the grill side. The black/red has a maybe relay plug on the firewall side and is cut on the grill side. And the black goes to ground on the firewall side and to the mess for the cooling fans on the other.
I've tried the wiring diagrams and they cleaned up alot, but these don't read right. Oh, and where is the Aux fan switch located??? Please help, I'm almost out of advil for headaches.

Any luck with this??? I to am dealing with the exact same problem. Although mine is not as bad as yours it's still a pain. I bought my car from a guy who just ran a power wire from the fans to a key on power source....real hack job. Anyways I am just trying to wire my fans back up the way it came from the assembly line for now. I will tell ya that the wires comming out of the connector in your last pic should run to another relay on the drivers side by the washer fluid bottle. At leist on my car anyway.
I would like to see some pics or a better explaination of the wiring myself.
