radio whine
for some reason my oem CD radio combo is really whining when the engine is accelerating. I had a G body ( El Camino) for awhile and i know they had some thing you wired into your alternator to stop it but i figured by 91 they had it fixed. Any ideas on what is wrong? Can't barely pick up any radio stations anymore and CD player seems to refuse to play CD's. p.s. I want to keep it oem so I'm buying one or a fourth gen one.
thanks!!!!
thanks!!!!

Re: radio whine
How old is your alternator? I had a similar problem with my 83, turned out the alternator was on it's last leg and completely quit charging like a week later. It could also be RF noise from the ignition. How old are your spark plug wires?

Re: radio whine
spark plugs are one year old and 8mm. Guess i'll try a RF filter. Wires seem good but alternator has been every great once and a while overcharging and undercharging. But very far and in between. Guess i'll get it checked.
