Forced to Mix & Match Wiring Harnesses - Help Needed Please and Thanks
To start this, my first real post on this site, I would like to say a general thanks to everyone who has posted useful information as this site has been of great help to me...
Here is my situation. I recently acquired an 85 TA H.O., manual tranny. The car started out as a California car and along its journey it ended up registered in Idaho. While in Idaho the car had its fuel filter installed backwards and guess what happened? Engine fire... Since the car was registered in Idaho, in order to get it running again, all emissions were pulled from the car and a non-Cali harness was installed. The car was brought back to Cali where it blew a tranny.
This is where I took over on the car. I have since installed all sensors, AIR, ECU and new used harnesses that I pulled.
This is where my problems begin. I replaced the interior harness and the lighting harness from what i believe was an 89. This harness has connectors that plug into a box by the windshield washer pump. The engine harness came from an 84, i believe.
Here are some of my problems (I'm sure this list will grow as I remember more stuff):
1. Almost every connector has been connected except the clutch switch as i cant find a connector for it (the switch is of the electronic type not the one that was in it in 85). I have one open connector by the steering column with 2 pins but no match.
I am going to post this for now as I am leaving work and will finish it later. If anyone already knows the problems I am facing and will help, I say thank you in advance...
