Charging problems & Headlight motor problems

Just bought car. Had no charging problems for 2hr drive home. Got home & noticed the Headlight motors was unplugged. plugged in and they worked fine with ignition switch off. Took a ride to town. Noticed the alternator was not charging. Bought new alternator. Still not charging. Cut switch off and on numerous times and sometimes will charge. Had it charging with headlights on and motors plugged in and all of a sudden it quit charging. Unplugged motors cranked it up again and its charging. What is going on? HELP

Re: Charging problems & Headlight motor problems

There is a "limit switch" built in to the headlight motor assy. This switch cuts the power when the headlight reaches full-open. This switch is most likely the cause of your problem. To find out which one: Unplug just one motor and see if you still have the problem. If it still haves the problem plug it back in and try the other one.
Good luck!!
