I Need Heat, What's Needed?
Ok, so I have an 82 Camaro. Currently 327, carb. It has no heater box, no heater wiring (in engine bay), has heater core, and interior heater wiring. I have the interior heater control unit.
What all do I need to get some heat/defrost in this puppy?
I will most likely be doing the s10 heater delete box, but I need to know if I would be able to wire everything up myself, or if I need certain resistors..etc
The heater hose will be no problem.
Looked at austinthirdgen's wiring and its a little confusing. Is the resistor in the motor or box or additional?
And where would the blower relay be located as well.
Thanks in advance

Re: I Need Heat, What's Needed?
So I guess I'll have to find the resistor off another car, or essentially if I only needed one speed I could just wire it one wire from the switch to the relay/motor and eliminate the resistor completely?
*EDIT* the box I'm planning on buying already has a resistor, although it it for an s10, would I need to change it to a camaro specific one or just wire it up and go with however many speeds it has?

Re: I Need Heat, What's Needed?
Perfect, thanks for the responses.
So all I will need is the heaterbox/blower motor/cage, resistor and relay, then it's pretty much some wiring and throw some hose onto heatercore and it should be good to go?

Re: I Need Heat, What's Needed?
Ok, so it sounds pretty straight forward and with the wiring diagram it should be simple.
One last question
Is there some sort of gasket or anything that goes between the heaterbox and firewall?
If so could I just silicon it if needed?
Or is it a little foam seal?
Thanks

I used black RTV all the way around the box, let it sit overnight to settle then installed it, no gasket that I know of.

Strips of automotive caulking work very well.
