trunk motor problem
trunk motor problem
hey, how's it goin, well basically my trunk motor is running non-stop and the trunk is stuck, it only pulls up for an inch if i pull it and gets stuck, and it won't fully close so the damn motor could shut up. tried holding the button while someone pulls the trunk but it won't open, nor close, tried the key but it wouldn't turn, tried some WD-40. and i can't try pushing the motor button down so it goes back to the close position. nor can i clean metal. the trunk button on the dash probably has an electrical touch cuz if the car is running hitting it would also hit the starter. so all that's left is pulling out the trunk motor fuse, which i can't find in the fuse box. some one told me it say's Assc. but i couldn't find that, can anyone help me with finding the fuse??
it's a 91 formula by the way.

Re: trunk motor problem
I have a similar problem with my 87 camaro as well. I just realized it this morning that the guy who tinted my car last night probably slammed my trunk down. the motor wont stop running after i opened it and would not close again. so i just pulled the fuse out to keep it from running. please let me know when you figure out what to do.
Re: trunk motor problem
well i tried everything that was suggested to me but nothing worked, i've read that camaros have different fuse boxes, but what did your fuse say? maybe it's the same with mine.

Here are a few things you can do.
To keep your battery from dying, pull the 15 "blue fuse in the fuse box under dash, drivers side.
You can adjust the unit itself. 3 screws are holding it in spot. Remove the back cover panel, subs if you got them. Loosen bolts enough to move unit around.
After adjustment when lid is closed. On the ending part it needs to lock so you should hear a noticeable click. If you dont keep adjusting till you hear the click.
If the trunk does not close at all, and motor keeps running, its time to rebuild the hatch motor, guides, sprockets, ect. You can do this, or buy another unit.

Re: trunk motor problem
i didn't exactly get what you mean, the inside cover panel?? if that's what you meant then i've already tried it, but it seems to be stuck from the top side, and i get a slight headache squeezing back there trying to pull it out, i think i'll try again tomorrow and i'll check the blue fuse, is it always blue?? might've changed throughout the years, specially since i got one banged up bird.

Re: trunk motor problem
not exactly sure on birds but under the dash/drivers side/left hand side there is a fuse box your looking for a 15 blue fuse. id check em all for good measure
Re: trunk motor problem
i finally got it, there were 2 15 blue fuses, but i didn't get anything removing them so i put'em back, the motor was a 10 red fuse, it said lid next to it, thnx guys. now let's just see if the half dead battery would juice back up.
