Bad ignition switch??
In my 87 Camaro, you dont need the key to start the car. you can actually turn the ignition and start the car with nothing in it. What component needs to be replaced, is it the ignition switch? My dad mentioned that it could be a cable OR the ignition switch. How hard is this job? Something I could do?

Re: Bad ignition switch??
If your car does not have an Air bag it is very easy, get a steering wheel puller (buy or rent) purchase a new ignition switch. Pull steering wheel, remove the 3 screws holding the turnsignal switch and the 1 screw holding it to the lever. Carefully move the turnsignal assembly out of the way. remove the one screw holding the ignition switch in and pull out. Installation is the reverse.
