Re: 91 camaro headlight **** removal
It's kind of hard to explain without a photo of a headlight switch, but there is a small button on the switch that you press down while pulling out the **** (as if you're turning the headlights on).
The button is a part of the switch and is perpendicular to the **** "shaft".
Maybe someone has a photo. It's easier to do than to explain.
Edit:
This is for an early Ford, but GM has the same button:

Re: 91 camaro headlight **** removal
I am going to the same problem today with my 92. I searched around the the results that I found said to pop off the panel where the fog lights would be if you had them right under the ****. From there take a flat screwdriver and put it in the hole and take a flashlight and just press up on the little button and pull the **** out like you was turning your lights on. It should pop out but I haven't went to do this myself yet, but I will be doing this tomorrow.

On the back of the headlight **** there is a small cutout section which gives you acess to the clip.Take a small flathead screwdriver and use it to push forward on the clip. The headlight **** should then slide off the shaft

Re: 91 camaro headlight **** removal
You should be able to just push it back in until it clicks and is seated in place

Once in awhile, too, you get a switch that you have to push the little button again to get the **** to 'click' back in place as well. I have had about 50/50 luck with them.

Re: 91 camaro headlight **** removal
The metal clip popped out of the plastic **** itself while I was pulling on it to get access behind it. Now I can't get the clip BACK into the **** itself. Don't know what I am doing wrong as I've spent a good 1/2hour on this! It's as if it was NOT meant to come out because the closed triangle doesn't even fit in the triangle opening inside the ****!

Re: 91 camaro headlight **** removal
It only fits in one way. You may have to take some needlenose and compress it a bit and then look for the corner with the little slit in it for the top part, and bend the holding tab forward so it grips better before inserting it

Re: 91 camaro headlight **** removal
I did this last night. The Chilton's manual stresses in bold type that the switch must be "ON" before you push that button in order to pull the whole shaft (including the ****) out of the switch. There's no need to take the **** off the shaft.
