Help wiring horn back up

Alright guys, when I bought my car, the pressure things, whatever they're called, in the steering wheel were broken, so the guy wired the horn up to a button. It was fine, until I realized he wired it straight to the battery, and the wire exploded when my car got jumped

Now what I'm wondering is, how should I wire the button back up? I've got new wiring for it, I just don't know what to wire it to. My chiltons says it gets wired to the Accessories line from the fuse block, but, man, getting the fuse block out is a huge PITA, so is there any easier way to do it than dropping the fuse block to get at the accessories wiring? I don't want to half-*** it, so I'll drop the fuse block if I have to, but can I wire it to any hot wire? Is there a specific voltage it needs?

Thanks.

Alright. So I wired the horn button up to the accessories fuse, on the back of the fuse block, made sure all the wires were connected up to the horn under the hood, everything is, but it still doesn't work.

I'm very confused, but I'm also very terrible at wiring, is there something I'm doing wrong? (though, I guess that's a bad question since the horn doesn't work haha)

Don’t jury-rig your ride.

Go to your dealer and get a new set of horn switches.

It’s a very fast repair.

If it still doesn’t work with the correct switches we can buzz it out on the net.

Happy Racing!

How bout those dorks too scared to drive without headlights on in the day time!

Yea...It's a bit insulting that you assume I'm doing this because I want to half-*** it. I can't replace the horn switches because the guy who owned it before me, prior to putting in the button that used to work, destroyed the mounts for the switches.

The button used to work, but it was wired directly to the battery. I want it to work again, without being wired directly to the battery.
