Transmission selector switch or what??
My 92 RS (V6) has a transmission gear selector button that will actuate without the key in the cylinder lock. I know its not supposed to move at all or shift while the key is out of the cylinder. So where is the problem at?? At the steering column (i can hear noise at the steering column) or beneath the shifter console (bad switch). Help is appreciated.

Re: Transmission selector switch or what??
There is a cable that runs from the shifter to under the column, there is a switch there that is supposed to lock the cable and thus, lock the shifter, unless the key is turned on. i'd start by checking if it's hooked up at the shifter and column, if not that then maybe a bad switch. my 91 vert does the same thing, i never bothered to look at it because it doesn't matter if it works or not to me.
