TPI swap finished. Now alternator problem??

I have some big troubles with my alternator at the moment.
I have just converted my 87 Camaro LG4 to TPI. Everything seems to be working fine and the car started without any problem.

Today I was going to test drive the car for a longer trip...I drove for about 20minutes and my headlights and other lights started to shine less...
Suddenly my car was also idling very strange and the power just went out.
In other words, my battery did hold out for about 20 minutes and then died.

I tried to start the car with starter cables from another and it started and died again...To me this seems like the alternator is not charging anything at all...How can I check the alternator if it is charging???

How should the alternator be wired??..Like now I have a cable from the + on the battery to the alternator, same as when car was stock carbed.

And then the connector that is on the TPI engine wiring harness...That was just plug and play..It matches the old connector from the Carb setup.

Any ideas??...Should the alternator be grounded somehow??...Anything I have forgot mayby??...

Please help me out here...

sounds like you need a new battery to me?
If the alt. is holding a steady 14.5v when the car is running?

Yes it could be the battery...I was thinking of that..I am gonna check the volts on the alternator today if it is charging at all....
I think it is a little bit weird becuse the alternator was working when my car was carbed....

But like i said...I tried to starte the car with starter cables from another car's battery and that worked...But after a few seconds the car dies..

I checked the volts today...I charged the battery for a while with a battery charger...The car started after that...Before I started the car the battery had about 12,5volts...It had the same after the car was started...On the alternator it shows 12,5volts...even if I give a little throttle so the RPM raise...The voltage is still the same...I guess the alternator is broken then??....
