I have been having a problem with power supply for the car. whenever i run the car it runs with full power from the alternator for about a minute, then the volts steadily drop untill the fuel pump doesnt even have enough power to run and the car dies. I have to take the negative wire off the battery and clean it up in order to even start the car again. This problem started a while ago and has slowly gotten worse to the point where i can't even drive the car anymore.

Is this being caused by a short somewhere? the battery cables look to be in good shape. I have done some rewiring in the car since i went from a injected v6 to a carbed v8. battery is about a year old too. any help would be appreciated.
