maybe burned starter?
So yea, one day i decided to hook back up the battery in the car to do the every week crank and stupid me put the terminals on backwords. Yes i know, stupid mistake of me, but now i need help. I checked all fuses and even replaced them with new ones to see if this would help get the juice flowing in the ignition and still no power. I do remember when i put the terminals on backwords smoke did rise from beneath the passanger header. Could I have screwed up the starter?

Re: maybe burned starter?
check the wires around the starter, you'll know if its been shot to hell. you can get a starter trigger that you hook directly up to the starter and use the batteries power, bypassing any fuse links, try this and see if you starter cranks over, to see if you did or didn't fry/seize it.
Replace wires that are melted, if not, check for the fuse link.
and then slap yourself for putting them on backwards

Starter won't be damaged by reverse hookup, but
alternator(and any electronics)can be -smoke was
probably from a fuse link or alternator wire.
