Hold on! if your fan isn't working , look for the fan relay , usually located in the passenger side underhood , near headlight , how the fan is kicked in your car ? via ECM ? has a thermoswitch ?
Get a wiring diagram, pronto!

First check the relay. Then trace the wires , if everything looks good ..... and your fan is kicked via ECM and not by thermoswitch....

Have you checked the ECM pins ? , search for a pin-out of the ECM , use a tester , IIRC ECM fan-kick for relay was GRN/WHT.

In mine setup , used GRN/WHT wire as backup relay kick , installed a Summit Fan Relay Kit (~36$) , and i put a XXXFº thermoswitch to kick the relay.
If my thermoswitch at fails , the ECM would kick the fan at the stock temp.

Have a nice beer

Re: Can find other end of this wire

the relay by the front headlight has been replace and fan still does not kick on, fan works if hooked directly to battery, and if you ground the green/white wire after the fan relay the fan will kick on, ecm has been replaced so it cant be a problem with that, and where can i find a detailed pinout of the ecm?

Hold off on the ECM for now. Take a paper clip and insert it in to pins A and B of the ALDL connector under the dash. The fan should kick on. If it does, you should check the fan switch in the passenger side head. If it does not there may be deeper issues.

Its the diagnostic port under the steering column. Do a search and you will find the picture showing the two pins. Also check the cooling board on this site. You might find it in there.

Re: Can find other end of this wire

So with the car running and the connector jumped the fan did not turn on? I would look at the wiring. specificaly the green/wht wire on the relay.

Re: Can find other end of this wire

that goes to the fan switch it looks like, just look down in that area by the head , its hard to spot but with the engine cold feel your way around there , once you find it make sure you secure it AWAY from the manifolds because i have seen most of them melted from manifold heat.
