Issues with guages....please help

Just did a 350 swap on my 90RS. The engine came out of an older truck (85) and does not use the computer anymore. I did a full rebuild on the engine and drove it back (2 hour trip) from the shop last night. I added a mech oil pressure gauge and mech temp gauge because those two on the cluster never worked before. On the way home once I was driving for about minutes i lost my tach, speedo, and fuel gauges. The "security" light would come on and the gauges would jump. The tach would jump all the way past red-line and the speedo would jump but would get stuck on the way down.... any ideas to these problems??

Also, if the tach would be working properly would be it correctly measuring the RPMs of the 350? The engine doesn't sound like it's running too hard but when the tach does work, it seems to read rather high.... just wondering...

Thanks

one more note on this... when my lights are on, only half of the speedo light is on (left side) and the lights for the oil and fuel are not working at all... also, if my lights are on bright then my left turn signal light stays on and when I need to use it, it won't work... only when brights are on...

Yah.. i'll look into that.. I don't think it's the bulb though. I also noticed that when the ignition is in the "on" position (even if car is off) the lights on the cluster stay on.... well half of them do. I"m going to have to check the connections and wires I guess. That'll be the next project... I hope i get it figured out. It would be nice to at least know how much fuel I have in the tank
