Re: will this work with my camaro?
Sure, it'll work on any car with separate low and high beams. It's just a power diode that lets current into the low beams when the highs are on - but not the other way around.
There are however two issues to be aware of.
One is that the high beam switch now sees twice it's current load and may fail quicker than anticipated.
The other is that when using high beams you usually want most of the light far ahead of the vehicle in order to see as far as possible. Putting additional light close to the vehicle will reduce the eyes ability to see as far as it can w/o the additional light.
Sure it looks cooler, and it feels more comfortable to see more of the road close up, but I'd think twice about doing it as it's actually counter-productive.

isnt the highbeam switch on a relay?
Re: will this work with my camaro?
why do u need that anyway. the stock low beam bulbs have a hi and lo filament in them. the stock high beam bulbs are just one filament. so when u switch to hi beam the 2nd filament in the low beam bulbs comes on

dont need it just kinda want it and i never knew that about the filaments cool info
Re: will this work with my camaro?

look at the connectors that u plug ur lights into. thats why the low beam connector has 3 prongs....lo,hi, and ground.
the high beam connector has 2, hi and ground.
if u really wanna upgrade ur lights search on the forums for h4 upgrades.

If your looking to increase the range of your headlights, or update them, then look at this
http://www.jcwhitney.com/PILOT-SEAL-...2821_10101.jcw
Also, there is numerous people selling this same kit on EBay. The other system would put a heavier load on the high beam wiring, which could cause problems down the road.

Re: will this work with my camaro?
If you REALLY want to upgrade your headlights, you need to give them the electricity they need. The stock wiring provides just half the wattage (approx. 56%) so if you upgrade the wires, you can get almost 100% of the power to the lights. Then it would make sense to sink big money into brighter bulbs etc.
If you do a search on headlight wiring upgrade, you'll find a lot of info on how to do it. It's not expensive, it's not complicated and it can prevent future failures such as melted headlight switch catching on fire.
Hope this helps.
