Problem with directionals
have an issue with just the rear directionals. They don't work at all. They worked for a second earlier, nothing now. The fronts works. The parking lights all work, reverse lights all work.
I'm green when it comes to electronics so if anyone has any advice on where to start looking I'll take it. Would a flasher do this?
Thanks and sorry if this is a repeat. Used search but the problems seem different so I figure I'd ask.

Re: Problem with directionals
The flasher powers both, the front and the rear. So if the front turn signals work, the flasher is good.
Have you checked the bulbs? That would be the first course of action.
The next course would be to take a test light (99c on sale at many stores) and probe the dark green and yellow wires on the tail turn signal sockets to see if the wires carry the voltage to the lightbulbs.
The third course would be to drop the knee panel under the dash (4 bolts) and test the dark green and yellow wires there to rule out the multifunction switch.
Let us know what you find.

Re: Problem with directionals
Thanks for the reply
Bulbs were the first thing I checked and they're all good. No worries there.
I'll try and get out tonight and test the circuit before it gets dark.

Ah. It's something in the column. Tilt the wheel and they'll take turns working and not working.

Re: Problem with directionals
It could be just a bad connection at the bottom of the column (where the big flat white connector is - http://www.austinthirdgen.org/mkport...-connector.jpg ) or it could be the connection at the multifunction switch. That would be harder to get at but not impossible.
You can search the threads here on how to remove the steering wheel and access the multifunction switch.
