Alternator

Do I have to get the special alternator or can I just get a 1 wire alternator? I noticed on mine there is a 3 contact port and still the one big wire where as the 1 wires, well, only have 1 wire.

Does it matter which I get?

EDIT: Also I am doing away with the computer so it will be a mechanically controlled engine, would I need it after the computer is gone as well?

Re: Alternator

One wire alternators suck. Don't put one in anything more sophisticated than a farm tractor; that's what they were invented for. :-)
