I have a problem!

I have a 1990 Camaro RS and have some electronic problems. When I turn on the headlights only one turns on, but when I turn on the brights that headlight that didnt come on comes on and a bright light doesnt come on. I just would like to know some ideas of what could be causing this. Thanks!

Almost the same thing happened to me a while back! I would get the two outside dims on low beam setting and when i switched to brights the two inside bulbs would come on and one of the outsides would turn off. I didn't expect this to be the solution, but I had it in the shop anyway so i mentioned it and they tried replacing the headlight that was turning off when i switched beams and for some reason that worked.

Beware though... this it probably an isolated problem, but recently this started: When i switch to high beams ALL turn off. I'm just about positive that it is purely the headlight dimmer switch causing this by not clicking over all the way. Just heads up

Re: I have a problem!

After checking for 12V+ at all of the light plugs, Replace all of your headlight bulbs.

this could be a simple adjustment on your high beam switch
if you pull the directional lever towards you does your high beam switch click?
if not you may just have to move it down the column just a touch.

I feel like that could be a definite possibility, cause it seems like it almost wants to click over but doesn't quite reach (and i don't exactly wanna snap the lever off of the column either). How do you adjust that?

Re: I have a problem!

on the steering coloum there is 2 switches the upper one is the ignition switch and the lower one is the high beam switch
the switch is held in with 2 screws just loosen the screws and slide the switch down a little retighten the screws and check for high beams
