help with vats ecm

hello i have a 305 trans am im swappin in a motor from a 350 tpi trans am gta 1989 i want to know what to do to bypass the vats system short of pullin th whole wiring harness and all is there a way to take the 305 ecm and put the 350 prom into it and have it run??? is the vats saved onto the ecm or the prom it self help me please i want to get this all done me and my boyfreind are at our wits end we have gone to many places to get help but people turn me down bc im a girl and they dont think iknow what im doing

If you are swapping from '86 to '89, the harness and ECM are not identical and you would need to make modifications.
You can do a search here to find out what needs to be changed in this particular swap, it's good to know beforehand.

ok so i have the ecm from the gta and the engine harness do i need the dash harness??? i hope not and i am also getting a vats bypass unit so what all do i need??
