Disconnecting power to antenna
Disconnecting power to antenna
I've got a Pioneer stereo in my 89 Firebird. I had disconnected the antenna wire to the back of the radio so the antenna wouldn't go up when I was listening to a CD.
I now have an Ipod, and I've got one of those devices that you listen to the Ipod through the antenna.
After I reconnect the antenna wire to the back of the CD player. How can I use the antenna, but keep the antenna from going up?

Down Periscope !
You can get reception for your ancillary equipment without the antenna being raised VIA plugging a Motorola Y connector to the antenna socket.
In one side of the Y you will plug the normal antenna into, and in the other side you will plug in a short piece of wire to act as an antenna for the ancillary equipment.

If People Drove Any Slower They’d Be Going BackwardsFog lights are not driving lights. They look doofy. Turn em off slow pokes.

But anyways I looked into it and found you have to disconnect a relay. But I don't think I'll have to worry about it as I pulled the radio and there was the pink wire hanging. And I couldn't find a place for the pink wire to plug into. But I think that is the wire that sends power to the antenna.
