Crazy question, need ideas

Hey guys, I've got a crazy question that I'm hoping someone can help with. I really want to do an 7-segment style LED dash for my 91 camaro, but I'm having trouble finding kits for doing anything like that. I want everything engine related and maybe more on the dash in an organized fashion, stuff ranging from engine oil temp, boost/vacuum guage, to trans temp. I also want to have the dash completely blackout when the ignition power is off, a light smoke coloring on a plexiglass sheet over the dash should accomplish that.

1) Does anyone know where I might be able to find kits to do most of the stuff that I want to do?

The other idea that I had was to get some of the cyberdyne guages and dismantle them and use only the guts in my dash so that I can get everything as close as possible. I may use a standard replacement for the speedo/trip/odo so that I don't have to hassle with anything really complicated. I can handle electronics as long as it isn't really heavy in computer chips.

Any ideas? Thanks

Thanks, that is much better than what I have found so far but still not really what I'm looking for. I'm looking for the individual kits for each part of the whole, then I'll create a pcb for everything to come together. Speedo/odo/trip I'll do the easy way with memory by going to one that is completed and just take it apart to use what I need. I may have found a kit that will work for the tach. It's all the rest of the sensor based stuff that I'm looking for, oil temp/pressure, coolant temp, trans temp, boost/vacuum, etc etc etc.

thanks

Instrument Instruction

Your fastest pit-stop would probably be a walk into your nearest speed shop.

They have a mile high stack of catalogs.

They have individual instrumentation for each function.

If they don’t have kits you can remove the electronics and mount the displays the way you want.

Happy Racing!

If People Drove Any Slower They’d Be Going Backwards

Fog lights are not driving lights. They look doofy. Turn em off slow pokes.

How bout those nervous nellies too scared to drive without headlights on in the daytime or if there is a little rain!

You have any ideas of any brand names? We don't have a speed shop around here so I'm having look it up on the internet. I figured as a last ditch effort I'd get the units that drop into a 2 1/16" hole and gut the electronics for the dash.
