Re: where to get bracket for cs 144

do you have a serp system or v-belts? I have v-belts but the belt for the alt is serp (ribbed style). My alt is on the passenger side. I think I was able to mess with the existing bracket to get it to fit. It is a bigger, so I unbolted one of the two bolts that hold the bracket to the engine, that way I could move the bracket up some and bolt down the alt...

Look for a 93 9C1 Caprice cop car. They had a bracket made specfically for the CS144. I have one somewhere around that I used for a while. Then went with tall valve covers and it wouldn't clear. Doesn't matter much now since I now have a march mid mount setup. lol

Re: where to get bracket for cs 144

I believe the CS144 and the CS130 are similar if not the same externally, so any vehicle (ahem, LT1) with that style alternator should be able to be used...

Re: where to get bracket for cs 144

let me ask you this, do you have a serpentine belt? Because I just did a recent "upgrade" on mine, I removed the top alternator bracket and just put a turn buckle in its place (from Home Improvement, Lowes, etc)...

Re: where to get bracket for cs 144

hhmm, yeah I think it'll be "more difficult" to modify the serp settup as opposed to the vbelts like I have. Can you take a pic of your brackets. I need to see if the alt bracket is also part of something else (smog pump, power steering pump, etc)...
