I picked up a drivers side door on craiglist... really nice condition with a window for $35.

The window is UP about 75%, and I'd like to be able to lower it ,and at the same time test the motor. I tried running a 12V positive wire to the borwn wire,and the negative to the blue one with the white stripe. Nothing happened, and then I reversed it.

Shouldn't one of those make the window go either up or down? I got the power lock to click over using that method

 

crap. I just found my service manual wiring diagram. It looks like the ground is based off of the switch, so i would have to have an extra switch to run the window up and down.

Let me know if you know a way around this

 

I use a pigtail i cut off a spare harness and a dewalt battery to raise and lower mine. Should work the way you did it, maybe the motor is bad.
