Car does not turn-off
Car does not turn-off
I have a Camaro 91 RS 305 (TBI). It has a strange problem. Recently I discovered that the fuel pump's fuse that is located next to the battery is burned although the car is running ok. so I replaced it with the same AMP fuse. After that the car does not turn-off even with the ignition key in off position. So I took out again the repaced fuse to turn-off my car. did anyone faced such a problem like this...please help....

Re: Car does not turn-off
Sounds like a possible short somewhere. For an EFI car to keep running at key off, there must be 12V getting into places where it does not belong, at least into the ignition leads to make the ECM think the key is still in the run position. I dont recall exactly whats on that circuit, but I do know that the ECM and fuel pump share power from that. That would go a long way to explaining why it keeps on truckin even when you turn it off.

The PO probably jerry rigged the fuel pump wiring when the fuse burnt.
Look along those lines for some sloppy wiring.

If People Drove Any Slower They’d Be Going Backwards
When you see fog lights on in good weather beware. Low performance driver ahead.
How bout those nitwits too scared to drive without headlights in the daytime,
and the nitwits that need headlights for a little rain
