Has anyone modified their tail lights to use 1157 (dual filament) bulbs on the outer tail light bulbs? The way they are stock, only the inner four get brighter with the brakes/turn signals. I think it would be as easy as just replacing the 2 outer bulb sockets with dual filament types.

 

No one has tried this? Also, I noticed that the driver side outer tail light has 3 wires going to it, but the passenger side only has 2. I'm wondering if this is something to do with the digital dash, and driver information center (thing that tells you if a tail light is out). Anyone happen to have a wiring diagram for the digital dash tail light harness?

 

I and pretty much anyone with a STS kit has done that. You pretty much have to, to get the sequential taillights to work... But I'm not sure on the 3 wire 2 wire problem. More than likely its for your digital dash and its "information center"

 

Ah, I didn't think about the guys who have done the STS kit. I think I will give it a try this week.

 

yeah, it was a pretty simple..."mod". I think I just went to the junkyard and got 2 dual filament sockets from another 3rd gen and just wire/splice them in...
