Strange happening with '91 wiring

Hello everyone,
I have a '91 Firebird, and I was taking out the shifter console to add
switches and I could not get the light assembly for glovebox to un-hook to remove, so I thought I would just cut the wires and rewire it back later.
Well when I cut it I lost my dome light and my rear view mirror lights. I wired it back and I cannot figure out. They will not come on, I have check all my fuses and all are good, Am I missing something, is the fuse for that circuit, hidden and not in the fuse block? any help would much appreciated.
I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, I don't what else to do to fix it.

Thanks

Jim

What are the color(s) of the wires you cut?

I will check and see for sure, but I think that they were orange and black,
small gauge wires that went to the glove box light.

Using a voltmeter or test light see if there is power on both sides of the ORANGE wire.

Using an ohmmeter see if both sides of the
BLACK wire go to ground when the door is open and toggling the map light switches.

Happy Racing!

If People Drove Any Slower They’d Be Going Backwards

When you see fog or “running” lights on in good weather beware. Low performance driver ahead.

How bout those nitwits too scared to drive without headlights in the daytime and the nitwits that need headlights for a little rain

Nina thanks for your help, I found the problem, the switch on the passenger door was rusted closed, cleaned it and freeed it up and it
was good to go. We have lights!!
