My 1987 Iroc 305 TPI without A/C has the 105 amp alt, yours I believe is 78 amps. You can check that out by looking at the alt case, the info is stamped into it.

probably will be a 97 or 108 a 17si type,those were used
on '85 and'86 tpi models. Could also be 120a,depending
on options.Late production '86 could have cs144 type.

Check your RPO codes if you got them, a K68 will be for the 105 amp alt!!
If you have a different RPO than K68, run all your "K" series RPO's in the RPO decoder, you should be able to find it out from them!!
