Gauge lights won't work need help.
Gauge lights won't work need help.
After looking through many threads I've decided to try my chances and see if anybody can point me in the right direction. My Gauge lights and floor lights on my 87 V6 Firebird have stopped working after replacing the bulbs and dimmer switch I was told to check to see if they were getting power using a meter. They aren't, So far I've traced the problem all the way back to the fuse box, the green wire I'm assuming sends power to the lights is not getting any. Any ideas?

The green wire is supposed to connect to the dash dimmer ▬ check that.
Once you verify that, and if it still has no power, probe pin F on the headlight switch ▬ it needs power there always.

If People Drove Any Slower They’d Be Going Backwards
When you see fog or “running” lights on in good weather beware. WLow performance driver ahead.
How bout those nitwits too scared to drive without headlights in the daytime
and the nitwits that need headlights for a little rain

Re: Fight For Your Lights
I checked both did not solve the problem but, I figured it out it wasn't either switch it's this thing behind the steering column not sure what it's called but I'll take a picture of it later for others to identify. Thanks for your help.

You're probably talking about the Remote Dimmer. It's behind the front of the dash, to the right of the steering column... not easy to reach, let alone remove and re-install. I've found that removing the bolts from the bracket that holds up the steering column, then lowering the column will give you easier access to the remote dimmer.
You've probably checked your fuses, but just in case... there's an 'inst lp' fuse and a 'tail' fuse, both of which can affect your dash lights, and the 'ctsy' fuse affects your floor and dome lights, as well as the hatch motor. So if any of those other things aren't working either, then you've probably got a fuse problem.
