purchased the car recently with a new 305 ho in it the gal sayed she drove it about 4 months and it wouldn't start one morning,it ending up being the clutch switch.had to rebuild the cc quadrajet so its running pretty well now.heres the deal her son a real genius.hacked and whacked on the under hood wiring.had the fan bypassed so it ran all the time, fixed that,o2 sensor connector melted so it wasn;t hooked up,fixed that.so heres the deal there is still a loose connector on the intake thats is about 3 inches toward the pass side that needs a sensor in it it has the single mushroom head type connector, there are 2actually one white which is the fan the other black which is the one in question ,which sensor is it,the other one is does the temp sender for the gauge go in the head and is it a single pole.the auto zone site is helpfull but a little vague.if someone would shoot me a pic of that corner of the intake it would be helpful.

Re: sending unit sensor location
Sounds like a knock sensor - it's on the pass side as well, and usually has the same connector as the fan switch. I forget which is which (knock sensor vs. fan switch), but one is in pass side head, other is in pass side block.
Re: sending unit sensor location
it wouldn't be the knock sensor in this case, the black single plug comes out of the loom with the white single plug which went to the fan sensor with only about 3 inches of wire. The fan sensor went in the t stat housing pass side and then theres one broke off in the intake pass front corner, thats the one i,m not sure what it is,could there be 2 fan sensors at dif temps.sorry about so much info in the original post ,just trying to answer questions up front

Re: sending unit sensor location
My bad! I put mushroom connector and fan together and thought of knock sensor.
