Engine: V8 5L carb
Transmission: 5 speed manual
Check Engine light
My mechanic says that the light comes on during deceleration in gear not because of an engine or exhaust problem, no, no, but because the light itself is faulty! The light is lighting to tell me it has a problem with itself! $150 to fix. I only need it to work for ten minutes during the smog check! After that I don't care so I don't want to pay to replace the unit, of course. Any ideas?
