My car was real boggy and ran like crap for about a week and i changed the distributor cap and plugs. the wires are fairly new as well. now the car is running worse than befor it barely starts and when it does it runs fine sitting there but when you touch the gas pedal it boggs and eventually stalls. what else can i do? Coil pack maybe?

.... for starters what are you driving, what engine, what fuel delivery system do you have, any SES light codes... we need details to push you in the right direction...

have you tryed looking at posible air problem, your Mass air flow could be going out, vaccum leak (check your hoeses) check your spark plugs take them out see if they are gapped right or look good to test you need 2 people and some darkness is suggested pull of a spark plug and the wire it goes with then have your buddy turn the key for a sec note they should give off a blue or yellow if good if bad orange or red if bad replace with new ones check. see if your wires are in the right firing order one could be off, your coil would just go out with no warning so it's not the problem. check your timeing if you dont know how go on craigslist and call a dude that knows how. or look up how to do it. your fuel pump could be going out to it sounds to me more like a air or fuel problem because your getting spark.

Well, i took the plugs back out and they were really carboned up again my dad thinks its the EGR valve would that cause the plugs to carbon up? Also, the ignition contro modual is really rusty, would that have anything to do with it? Any help is great.

it could be sticking valves, cracked distributor cap. check your fuel injectors dont throw money at the problem and more info on your car would help me, help you, and the hole TGO all together.

i had this same problem i went a little over board when i was trying to find the problem but im sure one of the parts were the problem because it is fixed now these are what i changed
o2 sensor
knock sensor
oil pressure sending unit
plugs
wires
distirbuter cap
rotor
all vac lines
and the gas
and the timing was off
i knew all that stuff needed to be replaced hope that helps.

it was most likely your timing... knock sensor possibility... everything else you would have had intermittent problems...

yeah the only reason i changed the the knock sensor and the oil pressure unit is because i was pulling codes saying they were malfunctioning oh i also changed the MAP
but i only changed that because it looked like it was super old and im trying to make this into a decent looking car for little car shows
