Clstr Fuse?

Hi, I searched around and couldn't really find the answer to my question, I have a '89 GTA and was wondering is the space for the CLSTR fuse supose to be void? I do not have the digital dash if that is what it was for, or am i just missing the fuse, because i have read elsewhere of other's peoples cars not having the fuse as well, and I personally don't notice anything functioning incorrectly besides possibly the steering wheel radio controls. Would love to find out more about it thanks..

Not uncommon to have one or two void fuse slots. Use a flashlight and check to see if there's a metal contact strip visible down deep inside of the slot. I have a couple of those void fuse slots, you might too.

Just checked and you're absolutely correct, there is no metal connecting strip in the fuse position. I am under the assumption that the fuse would have been for the digital dash option.

Re: Clstr Fuse?

On my 88 Iroc the 5.7 TPI the CLSTR keeps melting. I have found that in my setup it powers the MAF burn-off Relay and my engine fans with ignition power.
I don't have digital cluster either. But I have the pin outs obviously.
In a book I have on an 88 f body repair manual it shows the CLSTR circuit working A/C Control Head, A/C Temperature Door Motor,Driver information Center (dic) display module. And then instrument panel for digital cluster.
In my Chilton, 88-89 shows the cluster slot as not filled.
