Crazy Battery Drain - Help!

Ok so my battery to my 91 camaro died in all of about 10 minutes of driving. Drained from a fully charged battery from the previous nite (battery charged at 2A for a couple of days, was unpluged for a day)

I'm assuming the battery just cant hold a charge and plan on getting it checked tommarow but wanted to check if there was any thing that could cause this also.

Fuse Ruse

Heres how you can tell:

Turn the key to the RUN position.

Using a voltmeter or test light
(the type for testing for voltage, not a continuity tester) see if you have power on the brown wire on the alternator connector.

If you do, the blower fuse is not causing problem.

That brown wire has no voltage when I turn key to run. I run my fans off a toggle switch. The two relays that run the fans are completly out. Is there a way to work around that? So I can get the alternator to charge the battery?

Connect the brown wire to any hot in run circuit.

Drain Pain

Sometimes the under-hood or hatch light does not go out so check those easy ones first.

Then connect an ammeter in series with the battery.

If there is more than 50 milliamps there is excessive draw.

(You can use a small bulb such as a side marker bulb if you dont have an ammeter.)

Disconnect the alternator wires to see if its the problem.

With everything turned off and doors closed observe the current flow.

Pull the fuses one at a time, including the pump fuse near the battery, till you see the current drop.

Thats the circuit with the problem.

Happy Racing!
