Fuse Keeps Blowing
Fuse Keeps Blowing
Just tossing this out here since I have no Idea where to start. 87 Formula. Flip the headlight switch on and the lights go up and on and the fuse for the tailights blows out. Which also leaves the headlights in the up position even after I shut it off. I put a new fuse in with the switch in the off position and bang. The lights go back down. I have replaced the switch but that does not correct the issue. Everything was working fine and then one night it started out of the blue. Should I start looking at the tailight wiring? Or the headlight motor wiring. Headlight motors have been rebuilt a few months ago so they work fine.
Any tips are well appreciated.
Thanks

I would check the whole circuit for a short to ground, remember when you turn on either the parking lights or headlights the tail lights also come on, look behind the lights for any bad wiring or issues to start.
Re: Fuse Keeps Blowing
Just a quick update on this guys. After tracing wires in the hatch area with no luck. I did some more searching on the boardsand found a few other members having issue with the radio wiring. Well yeah. Thats what it turned out to be. Guessing I should have used the search feature a little better but lesson learned.
