I have a 1992 Camaro RS with a 305 TBI. I need to get a new alternator and i am unsure which one to get. I would like to get a chrome or polished one. Im not sure if its a 1 wire or not. There is a red wire connecting to the back of the alternator and there is another wire clipping into the top of the alternator, so would that make it a 1 or 2 wire, im not sure if the one on top counts.

 

If your wiring is stock, you should have a thick red wire with a ring terminal that goes on the stud on the back. You should then have a two wire connector that plugs into the slot on the upper edge of the alternator.
