Hey I was wondering if anyone knows if extending the wires that come off my shifter will screw anything up.I was just going to splice about three inchs into the existing wiring but i dont exactly know what they are for(im assuming they run to the ecm).I know how voltage can drop running through a splice and I dont want to end up having a bunch of self imposed problems.Any help would be great.Thanks

 

Shouldn't be a problem if connection done right.
On a auto car you have 3 pairs of wires;
starter inhibitor switch ,
backup lights
and a circuit to tell the ECM if car is in P or N

usual GM colors ;
blue and green wires for backup lights
yellow and green for starter
orange and black for P/N switch
