I need to bypass the fuse block..

I am the new owner of a 92 Camaro with a 350 recently dropped in. Amongst all the issues this car has from whatever one of the PO's has done.. the one that is on the top of my list is getting the HVAC working. There is no fuse in the fuse block for the blower, and the socket for the fuse is all burned up/melted.

What I need to know is how difficult would it be to bypass the fuse block to get the blower working, at least temporarily, to find out WHY, and/or WHERE the problem is so I can fix it correctly.

I wouldnt bypass the fuse block to go direct. Check for a short or put wire onto spare fuse(load side) with same rating at least this way if there is an issue the fuse will go.

See the thing is.. I put a fuse into the socket, and no go. I tried a wire jumper and no go. I'm thinking the contacts are jammed up inside the fuse block somewhere. I need to drop the block down and take a look at it I suppose.

That's not a terribly awful process is it? On a scale of 1 to 10, how hard would that be to do?

Is it for just that one fuse or others as well

1 being air filter, 10 being engine swap, Id rank it a 6.5

Ill tell you from experience, tracing wiring inside a dash harness thats still installed in a dash is significantly more difficult

I'm sure it is. I've really never messed with any wiring inside a car, besides installing a radio or 30, amps, and speakers. I'm not easily intimidated by it.

Just the blower fuse. All the others are just fine surprisingly. There's so many minor annoying things that were done wrong, or not at all. This is going to be a fun project.

Re: I need to bypass the fuse block..

Drop the block and see if you can get the blower fuse terminals out and just move them to an unmelted open slot.

Re: I need to bypass the fuse block..

My truck decided to melt a couple of fuse slots a while ago. I did the same thing, took me about half an hour.
