I need help

Ok. I used a 87 2.8 motor trans and engine harness in a 1992 camaro. Along with that i changed the ecm (big silver box) and the a chip thats inside a black plastic box. Ive pluged up everything except 1 plug in the engine bay near the passanger side exhaust manifold. (1 wire connector, grey connector with a 12awg red wire) I cant find where that goes to. Anyway. I turn the key the security light comes on then goes off. the ses light comes on. I turn the key and nothing at all no fuel pump no crank nothing. Also my blower doesnt work, neither does my hatch release. There is a plug under the driver side dash that is a black connector that has 2 12 awg wires on it, i cant find its home either. I need any help anyone can give. Ive spent probably 12 hrs now trying to make it run and i get no where.

Re: I need help

if you have SES light more likely there will be unless you are not using the aldl for the ecm you put on

Re: I need help

- guess its possible. I just figured it was lit because the key is in the run position but not running. Like a test with the rest of the lights

Re: I need help

I tried pulling codes but i dont get anything i tried pin 5 & 6 and pin 6 & 12 nothing not even the code 12??? I may be confused due to all the wiring down there but im 99.9% sure im on the right connector. If i can get this thing goin in the next few days i think im gonna try and swap in the 87 dash harness.

Re: I need help

red wire at passenger side may be the blower problem. My car has two connectors there, same configuration. One gives power to the heater area, the other gives power to the underhood lamp.
Did you check neutral safety switch or the clutch switch ?
Good luck ....

Re: I need help

It is and was a auto so no clutch switch. I have the shifter plugged in and hooked up so it shouldnt be netural safety. Though that is what it seems like to me. That plug cant be for ac because its not long enough. it comes out of the harness like 3 inchs. It doesnt reach anything, its right under the coil and next to the passanger side manifold. I really wanna get this thing running tonight so i can get it moved. I just wrapped up all the under car stuff and got the coil springs back in.

Re: I need help

do you have any pics of the relay and maybe wire colors, my driver side underdash wiring is a mess. Down there i found a push button with 2 think wires that tie into i wanna say a purple and a green (guessing since i havent looked at it in a few hours) But when i push the button it pulls alot of power. I havent actually put a amp probe on it but the voltage gauge falls to almost nothing.

Due to fact the fuel pump won’t turn on use a voltmeter or test light (the type for testing for voltage, not a continuity tester) to probe pin A of the pump relay (orange wire).

It doesn’t matter what position the key is in.

Is there power there?

The fuel pump relay is by the booster.

It’s the one more towards the right.

( More towards the “passenger” side.)

The starter enable relay is located under the left kick panel.
