knock sensor!!! please need some advice from the inteligent gents on here.
K so here is the deal,.... i got a 89 formula 350. i rebuilt the 350 it is a 350, 40 over. pretty much stock to be honest. the only thing is the inj are 24lbs instead of 22. now the car is missing two sensors, oil pressure and knock. now today i fixed the waterpump, and put in a knock sensor. now the plug color is white? now there is a black wire that has a metal end on it like it would be able to plug into the knock sensor if the plastic clip was on it but it isnt all it is a black wire with a sharp metal plug type thing. (hard to describe and cant get a pic of it) now i pluged it in and the car runs fine i guess, but still wont start on command? like turns over on cold start for literally 15 secs sometime lowest 8 secs. now could the oil pressure sensor not being plugged in, be sayin to the computer that there is no oil pressure and the comp is think it has to build some up befor ignition? or am i retard? thanks guys ant info or tips thanks

Sounds maybe like not getting fuel pressure until the Oil Pressure Sending Unit senses the oil pressure - does the fuel pump prime for 2 seconds when you turn the key to ON? Maybe just a bad fuel pump relay.

yes it primes you can hear it. so if it isnt priming then the relay could be bad? and there isnt anything else that could be doing this?
