What is the plug on the stock alternator?

I am wondering what that plug is that is on the back of the alternator because I am currently running an old style Gen I motor with a 1-wire alternator but soon I will be running the stock serpentine brackets that will hold my F1 procharger. When that happens I will need to go back to a stock style alternator.

Can I just hook up the battery to the back of the alt. and not worry about that plug? Some modification I can do to do that?

Thanks for any help.

You can go to Summit or Jegs website and find the alt. for the serpentine setup in 1wire configurations . The cost is around $200 from either place .

The 2 pin plug on it is kinda needed for that application. If im not mistaken one is for the idiot light no big deal but the other is a voltage reference for the alternator and is kinda important. So you will need to wire atleast that wire back in or go with a one wire set up.

Ah... Interesting. As long as 1-wire setups exist then I am all set. Shame that I can't use me alt that I already got.

I may look into somehow converting it, but it might be too much hasstle.

Anyways, Thanks for the help.

Its not a dummy light. The big wire gets 12v battery, the smaller 12v IGN
