MSD ?
Hey guys!
On my 88 IROC, I have a MSD 6AL box, and I'm using a MSD HEI distributor and external coil. I recently purchased a MSD Start/Retard box #8982. What I'm finding is my instructions don't show on how to hook up to a HEI distributor, only point type distributor. So do I just connect it the same way or do I need something else to make it work? Or do I have the wrong item for my setup?

Re: MSD ?
Sorry I've been busy over the holidays and working stupid hours on top of it, so I missed the last couple of posts.
I have had issues with the engine not starting when its warmed up, which I believed is due 2 a couple of things. First I'm running 11:75:1 compression on a 383 cubed small block, and my base timing is 10º. Second my headers are very close, and even with a heat shield still get my starter/solenoid hot. I also installed a remote solenoid which has helped rid of my no start issues.Third I've considered and have been putting a kit together for over a year in regards to No2.
I have not been on there site in a long time, but I thought the Daytona hood which is what I have is in the $400-500 dollar range. If they are selling the actually hood Louvers, then that is ridiculous. As I've seen brand new ones/almost new ones on E-Bay for less than a $100. You just have to shop around, once in awhile I've seen the my hood on E-Bay too. But the last time I was on E-Bay just surfing had to be about a year ago.
Just curious, what are you running that needs a start retard?
$469 + $418 for the louvers ???? really?
