this car is annoying me!!! please help!

so I go to best buy. turn the car off. come back out and turn the key. then to the on position. nothing,.... under the steering column it makes a click noise when it doesnt start. like there is no noise from starter or anything,....... what could this be? ignition switch? when it crank its crank perfectly fine,....... so i take it that means that the starter isnt bad. had battery testes its fine, alternater tested its fine,...... what could this be? i even checked the cble,... the postive one. the neg is fine so............

OK - VATS is doing it's thing since you got the click from under the column. The click is the starter enable relay, and the VATS provides the ground for it, so it clicked, so it's working. Juice enters the starter enable relay on a large yellow wire, and exits when relay activated on a large dark green wire to the center console into the neutral safety switch. Leaves the NSS on a large purple wire through the firewall connector on driver side and to the starter.

1) need to make sure large yellow wire into starter enable relay has 12v on it
2) need to make sure the dark green wire is getting 12v when the key is turned
3) need to make sure the purple wire is getting 12v out of the NSS when key is turned
4) need to make sure the purple wire is getting 12v at the starter when key is turned

If you need to get the car home, take a 10guage wire, with the key on, hold one end at the starter where the purple wire connects, and touch other end to the battery + terminal - with key on this will start the car.

sorry - forgot - starter enable relay gets the + on a small yellow wire from the ignition switch, and the ground comes from the VATS, this activates the relay and connects the 12v from the larger yellow wire to the dark green wire heading towards the NSS, so your ignition switch is fine since you got the click.

I wouldn't completely rule the starter out. It might be your solenoid. You can keep trying and keep getting clicks and eventually you'll get it to turn over. Actually not a bad fix.
