Alternator problem

I have a 1989 iroc-z camaro that i bought with out a motor in it and when the guy pulled the 305 out of it he just cut wires and stuff and he gave me a 350 to put in it. I got most of the stuff hooked up but my alternator wont keep my battery charged and i dont know why i put a new alternator in it and a brand new battery. I have the wire goin from the battery to the alternator and i thought i had the plug right but i dont know if it is the right one does anyone know where the wires come from that go to the alternator and also i am having some trouble with the vacuum lines if someone has a diagram for the routing that would be great. Thanks.

Alternative Information

The heavier red wire goes to the positive stud, and should have power at all times.

The thinner
red wire goes to terminal S (the sensing circuit) and should have power at all times.

The
brown wire goes to terminal T (the turn-on input) and should have power when the key is in the RUN position.

Refreshing Alternator Wine Cooler

It sounds like one of the diodes went bad.

You can open it up to locate and replace it, or to save time just install a new alternator.
