Replacing the tachometer internals with better aftermarket ?

Hi guys,

I've had this idea for a while after reading everywhere that our tachometer were basically junk, and that mine was working erratically : has anyone tried replacing the internals of a factory tachometer with those of a good, precise aftermarket one ?
I want my car to look stock but with slight improvements over the cheap original systems.

Thanks !

You should be able to accomplish it.

If you don’t get specific replies you can use most tachometer drivers.

After the swap you’ll probably have to adjust a trimpot.

The trimpot will be next to the first amplifier transistor in the replacement driver.

Happy Racing!
