Broken Cruise Control

The title I think speaks for itself. Why is it my cruise control isnt working? I recently replaced alot of the fuses which fixed most of the electrical but cruise is still broken.

Re: Broken Cruise Control

Mine doesn't work either. I think it's the switch on top of the clutch or brake pedal misaligned, just need to get under there and fix and/or replace it. Might be worth a look for you to check that out too.

Re: Broken Cruise Control

I am having the same problem. Just replace the push rod bushing on my clutch thinking that would fix the problem. When my old bushing broke off, The cruise stopped working. It was zip tied for about 2 months. I figured the clutch was resting on the senser. New bushing went on and nothing happened... Senser possibly stuck? Let me know if you discovered anything

Re: Broken Cruise Control

The two most common causes are the brake light switch on the arm of the brake pedal and the cruise control module behind the passenger side dash.

I have been looking for my cruise control module.. You state that it is on the passenger side. Take off protector panel. It is located up by the ecm? I still don't see it.

Re: 87 IROC Cruise Control Module

Its about 4" square 3/4" thick mounted on the end of the heater box on passenger side. It's a tight fit to get to, but you should'nt have to remove any dash parts.
