Help!?!?! Two knock sensors?
Ok to make a long story short im swaping an 87 383 tpi into a 1987 2.8 v6 car.The problem is the harness. I bought it off a guy on CL and there are a couple of issues. The biggest issue is that it looks like there are 2 knock sensors (i attached pics). I am almost positive that the 1 knock sensor is the real one. (The one circled with yellow) has a white wire and runs to the timing relay(what ever you call it lol). The Connector circled in blue which is a black wire runs to the large connector with 5 wires. On the other side of the connector the wire is green/white and is cut. Does anyone have any idea what this connector is and where i am supost to wire it to?

thanks

white is the knock sensor, the blue one is the pas side head fan temp switch which uses the same mushroom type connector

Re: Help!?!?! Two knock sensors?
It goes to the fan relay and provides a ground when the switch reaches the correct temperature so that the relay switches power to the fan. On TPI dual fan setups, the switch turns on the secondary fan while the primary fan is operated by the ECM.

Re: Help!?!?! Two knock sensors?
thanks this really helped fan harness is all ready to go. I just have one more problem there is are two wires are cut one is blue and one i believe is brown. The brown wire goes through the harness and connects to multiple brown and brown/white wires. I think this is a ground wire. but the other blue wire splices together with what looks like a ground wire. After splicing together it goes to the ecm I tracked it down to D11 on a connector going to the ecm. My question is 1) what connector is suppost to be there and 2) If that is a ground what do i ground it to I was taped up with oem tape inside the loom. Thanks again
ps i attached pics of the connector that the blue wire is going to
