New to 3rd gen world. Looking for help.

Hey all. I am a fairly new 3rd gen owner. I recently purchased a 1992 RS Camaro with the TBI 305 and a 5 speed. It is a great car and a pretty strong runner. I have done a few minor upgrades so far such as headers (removed the air pump system as well), 160 degree stat, and a Stage 2 Hypertech chip. Car runs great but I want more top end. Does anyone know how to bypass the speed-limiter in these cars? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you all in advance!!

You would have to burn a chip the limiter turned off. I'm surprised Hypertech didn't do that with theirs. That is the only way I know of doing it.

I was extremely surprised as well when I put it in. It definitely woke up the mid range on the car. But I took it out on the interstate and it still shut down at 112. Very very dissappointed in that.

Pull out the 160 stat. Nearly all of the cars electronics are designed around a 195 operating temp including the ECM. If feels stronger because it's running rich

Do a few searches on hypertech, then decide if the benefits outweigh the half-assed features

I'm not so sure I agree with you on removing the 160 stat. I do agree that the electronics are designed for the 195, however, with the small mods I have done I am actually getting better fuel economy than I was before. But I am also running 93 octane. So that may help that out as well.
