Horn help please!!! (pic inside)

Okay this is some serious fail...

My horn has NEVER given me any problems before, until last night. I honked at a Mustang in a drive-thru, and my horn literally FELL OUT.

WTF.

I know how it goes back in, but I don't know where the little horn wire thing goes. (the thing inside the spring). Does it go through the center of the steering wheel? I tried putting it in, but it doesn't fit!

See the white tubular hole at 12 o'clock in the pic just above the steering shaft? Push the spring end of the wire and the black tube into that white tube, when it bottoms out turn it about 90* clockwise and let go. It should catch, if it doesn't the turn signal cancel cam could be broken.

DREW!

Thank you very much for your help,

I unfortunately broke my Camaro one (in the pic)...the stupid brown bracket...the screws heads fell off that are holding the bracket on, so I ripped out the horn from an 86 Firebird, and put it in and did what you said, and it works great!

I'm going to a junkyard later to find a horn off a Camaro...the firebird one doesn't fit properly around the wheel and looks like ****, but atleast I have a working horn

TY!

You mean the slightly rusty metal clip that holds the horn button on the steering wheel? The plastic pins broke off and the metal clip came free, right? They all do that. It's easy enough to fix, set the clip back in the horn button so the plastic nubs match the holes in the clip. Mix up some general purpose epoxy and apply it to the nubs and the clip to take the place of the original melted plastic nubs. When it sets up, it's as strong or stronger then the original method.

Wow good idea again.

I'll do that...Do you know where I can get general purpose epoxy?

edit: I can probably just find this from some home hardware store right?

Yeah, 5 minute epoxy will get the job done. Anything that says it's compatible with metal and plastic will do it.
